Writing Tips For Web Publishers or Bloggers

If you write your own content for your website or blog, sometimes you just want to rush through the article just so you could have something published. I’ve felt that plenty of times. Check out this article, The Secret Key to Killer Content: Taking Time to Think, for some inspiration the next time you feel stuck and don’t know what to write about or you feel the need to publish something quickly.

Besides taking some time away to play last week, I also limited the amount of time I spent browsing the internet. I’m connected to many people via Facebook, MySpace, MyBlogLog, and a host of other social networking sites that sometimes I just get so caught up in what other people are doing and writing that I forget that I have my own thoughts and ideas as well!

What I have discovered is that ideas flow easily when I’m outside with nature or I go hang out at Borders bookstore to write. I’m able to soak up some of that knowledge through osmosis when surrounded by all those books!

Follow Up on the ACN Opportunity

Looking at some of the web traffic stats to this blog, I’ve noticed that quite a few people have found this blog via a post I wrote awhile ago about the ACN opportunity. I’d like to do a follow-up on that post and share more thoughts about this network marketing opportunity for those looking for more information…

I talked with my friend who I mentioned in the previous post and she told me that she is still involved with ACN but she’s not as active as she used to be. She said that she’s just not passionate about the telecommunications industry. She discovered that she really likes the personal development field and enjoys talking to people about spirituality.

This goes back to this idea of having passion for your work. You have to like what you do. It’s hard to sell anything to anybody if you’re simply not interested. Although there was the potential to make a great deal of money with the ACN business opportunity (and there are people who do make thousands of dollars a month), it just wasn’t what my friend was really into. Besides, she wanted complete freedom over her business and didn’t want to have to answer to her upline or feel obligated to attend ACN meetings.

If you are interested in the telecommunications industry but don’t want to commit to a networking marketing program, why not get into affiliate marketing and have full control over your business? I recommend reading The Super Affiliate Handbook.

Go with your gut instinct when you’re debating on whether or not to start any business venture. And remember to ask yourself these questions

iGroops: Membership Websites Made Easy and An Interview With the Founder

How do you get reoccurring passive income every month? I'm sure that's a question that many of you internet marketers think about on a daily basis...At least I do!!

A friend and I were talking about all the different ways to make money online and I brought up the idea of creating a membership website. We both love to share information with people - she loves to talk and I love to write. An idea was born! We'd build this website and charge a monthly membership fee for people who want access to all of our valuable information...

So I got to work on the research...Exactly how does one build a membership website? I didn't really want to spend the time to build a website from the ground up. I already have the challenge of redesigning the websites I already have!

In my search I came across this website called iGroops Membership Sites. What I like about iGroops is that they already have a template and all kinds of modules and services setup for you so you don't have to start from scratch! Basically all I have to do is create my own banner header and all of the content to upload to the site. There are also different plans based on your business needs.

iGroops was founded by Bo Bennett and to get an idea of who he is and how he got started with this company, I asked him a few questions which he was kind enough to answer...

MP: I saw that you started reading personal development books by the time you were 10 years old! How important is it for entrepreneurs to read these types of books?

BB: For me it was very important. It was the fuel for my desire to do something on my own. These authors were my mentors and frequent reading/listening put me on the right path.

MP: Did you always know that you wanted to have your own business?

BB: Yes... from very early on.

MP: What types of companies have you been involved in and why did you start them?

BB: In my teenage years I was involved in businesses with low cost to entry -- mostly distributorships and resale arrangements. In college I stated using more of my talents in design, then after college programming and the Internet. Use what you have.

MP: What inspired you to start iGroops?

BB: My failure trying to launch my second webhosting company mostly. I discovered that the online world has changed quite a bit from the 90's, and the business community demanded more.

MP: What one piece of advice would you give to someone wanting to start their own membership site?

BB: Keep your startup costs low and don't try to build on from scratch! With iGrOOps one can get started for $99 and $29 per month.

MP: What's your biggest vision in life?

    BB: Ruling the world

MP: What's one of your "secrets" to building a successful online business?

BB: There are no secrets, and don't let anyone sell you any. There are many great marketing techniques out there. If you choose the right ones, you will succeed.

Start your own membership website by visiting iGroops now!

Website Hosting and Internet Services on a Budget: Resource and Tips

Many people think that starting and maintaining an online business is costly, but I'm here to tell you that it is possible to have a successful business even if you're on a tight budget! In fact, I pretty much started my business with only $8.95 - the amount I paid to start my web hosting. Of course, I invested a great deal of time marketing my website myself...and then there was the monthly cost of internet. Back then AOL was the big internet provider so I paid around $23 for it. So, all in all my overhead was about $32 a month.

However, things are much cheaper nowadays. You can now get wireless internet with your cable and phone at decent monthly rates. I just found out about a company named Charter Communications that offers bundled packages. They're having an auction beginning March 12, 2008 where you can bid to win internet for life! The bidding will start at $10 and if you pre-register now, you'll be entered to win a Nintendo Wii (No bid or purchase necessary). Click Here for a Chance to Win a Nintendo® Wii™!

Although you may be on a budget, I don't really recommend shopping for low-cost website hosting or internet service providers based on price. Before you purchase any service, make sure to call the company's customer service and email them to see how their reps communicate with you. Also, do an internet or blog search for the company to see what others are saying about their services. Sometimes the reason a company is so cheap is because they don't offer any type of support or customer service!

Starting Your Internet Business: Why Not Now?

From the time I was 3 years old I've been reading books. When I was in elementary school every other day after school I'd head to the library to find a book to read and if there was a book sale going on you better believe I knew about it!

Until now I'm still a bookworm. When I first heard about feed readers, I subscribed to just about every blog I came across that had good articles. Problem was, there were way too many good blogs out there and pretty soon I found myself overloaded with information. The phrase "information overload" never crossed my mind until I started reading ebooks and blogs. When I first started out as an internet marketer I became one of those people that Tyler Cruz mentions in his post, Stop Reading...Start Doing! I was grabbing up ebooks left and write (mostly free ones) and subscribing to tons of newsletters and blogs.

Yes, learning and gathering information about internet marketing is great, but there comes a time when you have to just put down the book or close the feed reader and take action!

If you've been a regular reader of this blog, you know I talk quite a bit about taking action. That's because I know this is the one thing that stops many from realizing their dreams. I hear way too many people say, "I'm going to do that someday..." Why not now?
