    Speed Linking: Internet Business Blogs

It's been a long day of going through all my blog feeds and catching up on my internet business blog readings. Of course, if I shared all the great stuff I came across, your head would probably explode just like mine is about to!

Well, I managed to limit the links to a few...

  • This article,Six Things To Avoid When You're Running Your Own Small Business, is something I wish I would have read when I first started out!

    Increasing Search Engine Ranking

We all love and crave affection from the search engines. Any business owner or publisher will tell you that search engine rankings and links are the heart and blood of any website - well, next to the customers, of course! Your search engine rank tells the world how "important" your website is. For publishers who depend on ad revenue for income, this ranking gives advertisers an idea of how popular your website or blog is.

I recently changed the domain of this site to OnlineBizResoures.info, so now my Page Rank (a.k.a. "PR") is back to 0. Now, it's back to the grindstone of getting links to this new domain because unfortunately, when you change domains, you lose that PR even though your blog is still with the same server. Now I understand why they say you should always get a domain at the beginning of the blog! Well, you live and learn. The PR for the previous domain was a 3, so it wasn't a huge loss.

Anyhow, I came across a great post by Raj Dash of Internet UltraGeek (via Smart Wealthy Rich ) in which he shares with us how to increase search engine ranking by deep linking. I had no idea! I do this on some of my blogs just for the sake of the reader - directing them to related posts to get more information. However, I had no idea that this could actually increase your search engine ranking. Of course, there is an art and science to this which Raj explains in detail.

Have any other tips to share on how to increase search engine ranking?

Are You Doing Something For Your Readers/Customers?

I read an interesting article by Jimmy D. Brown titled Ezine Publishing For Profits Checklist: Are You Doing These 5 Things? and in #3 on the checklist he says:
Are you PROVIDING? Let's be honest here: the only
thing that will BRING YOU BACK to a site is whether or
not you feel like you have gained something in going
there. If you've been educated, you'll be back. If you've
been entertained, you'll be back. If you have found
something to be beneficial to you, then you'll come
back over and over again. And you'll stay as long as
    you continue to gain something.

Newsletters should PROVIDE something to their readers.
And that's QUALITY content. That's something that either
EDUCATES or ENTERTAINS. Or, preferably, BOTH.

As a publisher of a newsletter, do you give of yourself
to your readers? More than just trying to get them to
buy something or do something... are you doing something
    for them?
We've read it time and time again..."Content is King!" Well, it couldn't be any more important than it is in this time and age of the internet. There's so much noise out there and the only way that you're really going to stand out is to be honest, authentic, and have that passion for helping people.

Online Business Articles and Doing What You Love

The beauty about the internet is that you can meet so many people from across the world and make business deals literally through your computer!

I've met some interesting people through my other blog, The Good Life. One of them being Rob Cooke of Leave the Office, Travelling Money, and Powerbook Studio. (The man is a very busy entrepreneur, I must say!) So of course, being that it is one of my missions to help people with their online business, I agreed to help Rob out by writing some articles for the Travelling Money website. I thought I'd share them with you here because they certainly apply to the process of making money online -which is what Rob's website is all about.

Rob hired me to write five articles and so far I have written three:
Writing these articles has definitely given me inspiration in my own process of writing my ebook.
It's interesting to see that things are coming together in full circle. That's what happens when you start doing things that you are passionate about. If you ever start an online business, the one tip that I always give people is to do something that you love.

The one thing I love is writing - Can you tell with all the blogs I have?

    What do you love?

A Brief Glimpse Into the Life of an Internet Entrepreneur

I have to admit that I've been feeling a bit unmotivated the past couple weeks, so I apologize for the lack of posts. I had started working day and night on some Squidoo lenses - sometimes until 3 a.m.!! I think that's what burned me out...besides all the traveling that I've been doing.

However, that's the life of most internet entrepreneurs - in the beginning anyways. I know that every website I build is just like real estate. Eventually the market price of the website will go up if I spend enough time on the maintenance and updating.

Now I've been brainstorming more ways to create passive income. About 40% of my income is passive and I'm working to make it at least to 70% by year's end. I know that once I finish this ebook, I'm sure to make the jump!Turtle Enjoying the Sunshine

What I need right now is to get back into the groove of things. If you've been an internet entrepreneur like me, I'm sure you can relate! I spent some time this morning reading the blog,
Entrepreneur's Journey and it gave me a little motivation to keep on moving. If you can recommend a good motivational book to read, let me know!

Instead of working on business these days, I'd much rather bask in the sunshine like this turtle I took a picture of!

    Cluttered Blogs and Websites

It's so easy to get caught up in all the Web 2.0 widgets and social bookmarking stuff. Then we go and put all this fun stuff on our blogs or websites...and end up with a cluttered looking blog! Andy Wibbels, author of Business Blog Basics and other popular ebooks, has created an interesting video (found via Big Bucks Blogger) telling us about all the clutter on our blogs. Check out the video below...

I'd love to get your feedback on the layout of my blog... Does it look too cluttered? Is there anything you'd like me to add? Leave a comment below!

The Social Networking Site the Gurus Don't Talk About

There's a social networking site that many of the gurus don't talk about and even I forgot about this site until today. 43things.com - a site where you list your top 43 goals and help others accomplish their goals.

At the time I created my account over at 43things, I didn't really think about using this site as a way to market my business, but now that social networking sites have become the "craze", I think this would be a great place to connect with others who want to start an online business. At the same time you can jot down your own goals for your business and be reminded of them whenever you log onto the site. It's definitely a win-win all around.

I don't exactly how many people are on 43things, but everyone there is looking for help with their goals. If you have a product that can help them, why not share your thoughts and expertise?

Visit my goals page at 43things.com. I need to add 7 more goals to the list! I've also posted some goals over at my other blog, The Good Life. If you already have an account, let us know by leaving a comment here. Let's help each other accomplish our goals!

Small Business Loans to Finance Your Online Business?

Up until now I’ve pretty much bootstrapped my way to success with my online business. I challenged myself to try and build an online business empire with only the money that I have and to not take out any small business loans.

    Until now.

I know that if I want to accelerate to the next level, I’m going to need a little help and help costs money. There are some things I want to outsource - mainly website design - and that is going to cost quite a bit of money.

Many preach to avoid business loans like the plague and yes, I was one of those people, but on second thought, I think if you just take out one very small loan - like $2,000 - and then pay that off before you take another loan out, I think you should be ok.

Have you taken out a loan to finance your online business? What has been your experience with small business loans?

Do You Want To Make Money While You Sleep?

Do you know how it feels to wake up every day and know that YOU are in charge today? YOU decide if you should get a cup of coffee before work and how long you want to sit and enjoy the coffee…YOU decide what you want to work on that day…YOU decide how long your vacation is going to be? This is the kind of life you can live if you have your own online business and this is the type of life I am living right now! I just got back from vacationing in Chicago and guess what? I made money while I was on vacation!

When I first started out on my journey to creating an online business, I kept reading about all these people who were “making money while they slept” and I thought to myself, I want to be one of those people! I mean, who doesn’t want to make money while sleeping or on vacation, right?

Today I woke up and had this realization that I, too, have joined the ranks of people who are now making multiple streams of passive income! Somebody pinch me!

All my friends and family have been urging me to write a book to help others start their own online business. I’ve decided that this isn’t such a bad idea, so for those of you who are just starting out and want to learn more about starting your own online business, you’ll be excited to know that I’m currently working on an ebook that will teach you step-by-step on what to do to start an online business for under $10! Yes, contrary to what many people think, starting an online business costs next to nothing and it’s fairly easy to do if you know what you’re doing.

I started with $8.95 (the cost of web hosting) and a burning desire to create multiple streams of income with an online business. Soon I will be sharing my secrets with you! Stay tuned! Subscribe to this blog so you don’t miss out on the launch of my ebook or you can join the Online Business Resources Group as well.

If there is an issue you would like me to cover in my book or you would like to contribute to the book, let’s talk! Shoot me an email at prosperouscareeronline [at] yahoo [dot] com
