    Is Blogging Your Online Business?

Who knew that I would be making money doing what I love - writing and blogging. CustomersAreAlways.com is starting to bring in some good web traffic and I'm truly enjoying writing for KnowMoreMedia. You couldn't get better support anywhere. Dan Smith, the Vice President of Publishing for the company, has been so helpful - along with all the other executives. If you have any background in business and are thinking about blogging, I would highly recommend applying to KMM.

Anyways, to help me with my blogging efforts, I've subscribe to many business blogs like Blog Business World. Wayne Hurlbert offers many helpful resources to help you build a better business blog. Also, Darren Rowse, blogger extraordinaire and owner of ProBlogger.net, offers many helpful tips, how to's, and news on business blogging.

Know of any other great resources on blogging?

Do What You Love & Loving What You Do

It's 2 a.m. and I'm still "working". Yes, you may think I'm crazy, but I don't view it as work. I'm doing what I love. I'm writing, making websites, reaching out and helping other people, etc. That's what I love to do.

I can't stress enough how important it is - you gotta have passion for your work or else it's just not going to last. Through the good times and bad you'll still love what you do. That's the true test of an entrepreneur. As long as you stay true to your dream and visions, then nothing can stop you.

Just my 2 cents for the day!

The One Secret Every Afiliate Needs To Know

    By Mark Kauchak

Get set to have all of your ideas about Affiliate Programs turned upside down. While you may be hesitant at first, rest assured, once you put this new knowledge to use your Online business will flourish like never before.

Here is the way you MUST use Affiliate programs.

“The main purpose of your Affiliate program is NOT to make money. The main purpose of your Affiliate program is to add names to your opt-in list.”

Read the quote again. Quite a shocker isn’t it? Let me explain why this statement is so true.

Think about how Affiliate programs work. You have been taught to place ads so people will click on the link which takes them directly to the product website. The net result is that you spend your time and money to generate traffic for your Affiliate program and you make some money on a one time sale. End of your investment and end of your association with that person.

Let’s analyze this a bit further because when we do you will see the wisdom in my quote.

The people that responded to your ad are interested in the product you advertised. Ok, that is pretty obvious. But they have given you something else when you think about it. They have given you a clue about the type of product they are interested in by clicking on the link in your ad.

You now possess something of great value - you know something about their interests. Marketing people love to get this type of info. There is one slight problem. Under the current way you are doing business you will never learn who they are or see them again. Once they click on your Affiliate link, they are whisked off through Cyberspace to the Affiliate program website.

Let’s now look at a new Affiliate system designed to maximize the benefits to your Online business.

Does the Affiliate program you are interested in offer a free info product such as a course, report or e-book as advertising tools? If so, awesome. If not, you will need to create your own info product in order to use this strategy. Here is how you will use these tools.

Before you place any ads you will set up an Autoresponder with the free info product and some follow-up messages. The follow-up messages will offer some additional information all geared to help sell the Affiliate program product and develop a relationship with the subscriber.

After your Autoresponder sequence is set up, instead of advertising the Affiliate product you will advertise the free info product. In order for the reader to get the free info product they must join your Autoresponder list where they will leave their name and e-mail address.
Do you understand what just happened? Instead of maybe making a sale for an Affiliate program product, you now have the name of a person not only interested in the Affiliate program product but possibly related products! You now have names you can introduce other products to in the future at no additional cost because you have already spent the money to identify these potential customers.

This is truly a powerful paradigm shift that very few people know about.

Always, always remember the number 1 rule of Internet business: The money is in the list!!! The list empowers you by providing a long term source of revenue! Look at the money you make from the Affiliate program is an added benefit.

Once you use this technique with one Affiliate program you can use it with other programs to build lists with different interests to create multiple streams of income.

The Beauty of Working From Home

Working from home is a beautiful thing. You don't have a boss to answer to and you can come and go as you please.

However, working from home does take a bit of discipline and strong time management skills. Sometimes it can be tempting to just sleep in, but if you're just starting out, you'll need to sow the seeds first before you can reap the harvest.

Many people promise the riches of having an online business. And yes, making alot of money from home is possible and it is easy if you have the knowledge. There's so much out there right now and it can be overwhelming trying to figure out which program to sign up for or what type of business to get into.

My hope is to help unravel the mystery of building and maintaining an online business. But first, I ask that you really dig deep inside and figure out what you feel your purpose in life is. What do you feel passionate about and what type of lifestyle do you want to live?

eBay Express - A New Way Of Buying And Selling On eBay

    by Pamela Bruce

In January 2006, eBay announced a new specialty service named eBay Express. Here are some of the highlights of this upcoming venture, according to eBay e-mails and websites:

    • It emphasizes new merchandise. eBay obviously wants to distance itself from the "online flea market" image that many people associate with it. However, eBay also states "eBay Express will allow shoppers to buy products ranging from new, used, refurbished and more".
    • It is not auction-based. Everything on eBay Express will have a fixed price and will be available for immediate purchase - no more waiting for auctions to end (of course the Buy-It Now feature has also been available on eBay.com for quite a while).
    • There appear to be plans for some kind of shopping cart, making it easier for buyers to make multiple purchases from the same seller.
    • There are a number of seller requirements: a feedback score of 100 or more, 98% positive or better, public feedback (as opposed to private), PayPal Premier or Business account, setting PayPal account to ship to unconfirmed addresses or make sale-by-sale decisions (a point that has caused some stir among sellers), and being based in the US (it seems that eBay Express will be offered only in the USA at first). Sellers also must state shipping costs, either flat, calculated or free, rather than forcing buyers to look for them in the item description or having to e-mail the seller.

eBay Express is supposed to be launched during the spring of 2006. Like the "IT" campaign, it seems to be another attempt by eBay to get away from the "cleaning out your garage and selling stuff on eBay" image and a challenge to conventional online rivals who have offered fixed prices and shopping carts for a long time.

Pamela Bruce lives in Austin, TX. She is the owner of Love Beads Unlimited and sells the sterling silver and Swarovski crystal bead jewelry she designs and creates both in her eBay store (http://stores.ebay.com/LOVE-BEADS-UNLIMITED) and on her website at http://www.lovebeadsunlimited.com, where you can also download the free e-book "A Consumer's Guide to Buying Bead Jewelry Online".

    Sell Your Products For Free

If you're wanting to start an online business, but are on a very tight budget, here are a couple websites where you can sell your products without the hassle of building a website from scratch:

Yahoo! Auctions - it doesn't get nearly as much traffic as Ebay, but hey, how can you complain when there are no fees to sell? I use Yahoo! auctions to bring targeted traffic to my art and jewelry website. And I also use it to list specials for my established jewelry clientele.

Ecrater.com - an ecommerce company providing full service websites. You choose the template you want to use for your website, upload the photos product descriptions, and you are set! Best of all, the service is 100% free :) I use Ecrater to sell my handcrafted greeting cards.

If you know of any other great places to sell for free, please share!

    The Importance of Customer Service

Ever since I joined the Know More Media team of authors and writing about customer service, I've come to realize just how important customer service is for a company. No matter what the size of the company, customer service should be one of the top, if not the very top of the priority list.

With an online business, customer service is a little tricky because you don't have that one-on-one customer contact. One of the biggest complaints that online buyers have about shopping online is that oftentimes they don't receive a reply to questions or comments.

How do you expect to sell your products if you don't answer your emails?

    A Vacation From the Computer

My computer was acting up, so I took a vacation from it and just recently got it fixed. Computers - can't live with them - can't live without them. I actually had computer withdrawals for the first week or two. The laptop was having issues too -- must have been meant for me to take a break.

When you have an online business, having a computer is vital! I ended up having to use my friend's computer. Sometimes I used the computers in the public library down the street, but was only allowed to use it one hour a day. It's not fun when you have only one hour to do 3-4 hours worth of work.

However, I have learned to focus more when I'm at the computer. With the internet, you know, you can just get caught up in the web (pun intended)! I've also done quite a bit of writing and reading while on "vacation". I highly recommend:

Well, I'm back in full swing and at your service :) I welcome any suggestions for future articles or if there's anything you'd like to see here, let me know!
